What is Gutter Cleaning?
Gutter cleaning is the removal of debris from your gutters.
Across the different seasons of the year, particularly in the autumn and winter, the gutters are more prone to becoming blocked due to an excess fall of leaves and twigs blown by the wind during harsher weather. During this period, it is common for gutters to become blocked.
Many people try to clean and unblock their gutters themselves, however, this could lead to you causing unnecessary damage to your gutters, so it is best to leave this to the professionals.
It is also possible to have blocked guttering in more hard to reach places, such as on a set of high rise block of flats. This job is carry and handled by an experienced gutter specialist who has the equipment to reach the gutters in a safe manner.
Here at GNC Industrial Cleaning we offer a specialist gutter cleaning service through our sister company which specialises in all drainage services. As well as having over 10 years of drainage experience, The Drain Company (Hull) Ltd also has all the needed expertise and equipment to complete any drainage task fast & efficiently.
How did we Clean the Gutters of these Flats?
Here at GNC Industrial Cleaning we are always investing in the latest technology and equipment to make our job easier.
In the case of cleaning and unblocking the gutters on this high block of flats our mobile elevating work platform (MEWP) was needed so that our operative could reach and perform their duties in a safe manner.
Health & safety is paramount to us at GNC Industrial Cleaning. The use of a MEWP for gutter unblocking and cleaning at high level is very useful, because it provides our operatives a safe and stable platform to stand from as they carry out the task at hand.
Working at heights is one of the biggest causes of accidents on construction sites. MEWPs are designed with safety in mind. They allow you to lift workers and equipment to a height in a quick and safe manner. For more information on the usefulness of MEWPs click here

How do we Clean Gutters from High Levels?
Gutter cleaning is one of our core services at GNC Industrial Cleaning, part of The Drain Company (Hull) Ltd Group which specialises in all aspects of drainage.
To perform our gutter cleaning service we may use one of our specialist pieces of equipment from our high level cleaning service section. This provides a safe platform for our engineers to carry out their gutter cleaning duties and enables us to access awkward areas that would normally be out of reach.
Why is Gutter Cleaning Important?
Gutters are a fundamental piece of the structure of your home. Their purpose is to control the flow of rainwater, protecting your roof, walls, foundation and landscape.
But when neglected, gutters can turn into a nightmare. A gutter clogged with leaves, sticks and other debris can cause roof leaks or water damage to the interior or exterior of your home. What is recladding?
Re-cladding is the application of one material either over another or as a replacement, in order to provide another, newer, more effective layer. Cladding is also used to provide an increased degree of thermal insulation and weather resistance and also to improve the appearance of buildings. There can be a wide range of materials used in cladding, for example the materials used may include, brick, metal, or vinyl. For a further understand of cladding click here.
Here at GNC Industrial we offer a specialist re-cladding service, we are also able to use equipment from our high level cleaning service, (for more information on this service click here), which means our re-cladding service can undertake jobs beyond the range of ladders etc. Having the ability to use our high level cleaning equipment for a re-cladding job also allows GNC’s engineers to complete their tasks faster, safer and more efficiently, whilst still maintaining the high standards we set for ourselves as a business when completing a job for a client.
How do GNC complete a re-cladding job?
One of the most recent re-cladding jobs GNC’s engineers were tasked with completing for a client was the complete re-cladding of the upper external walls of a house that sits on a large estate in Hull. This was, of course, at high height, so required the use of specialist equipment from our high level cleaning service. This would allow GNC’s engineers to safely reach the section of the house that required re-cladding.
Our engineers first task was to remove the old cladding, once this was safely done our engineers then made sure the house water tight and thermally insulated. It was then time to recladd the house in the material most suited to the job and the client’s tastes. The material chosen to recladd the house was wood, this choice would ensure that the house was water tight, improve the thermal installation, as well as improving the general appearance of the clients property.
